Construction contractors: tracking projects, materials and payments in one place
Contractors often discover a project lost money only when it is finished. Here is what a contractor's system should track, from someone who has been one.

Our founder worked for years as a contractor on hospital, school, restaurant and commercial projects. The most expensive lesson of that work is one every contractor knows: you find out a project lost money at the end, when nothing can be done about it. The materials were bought, the labour was paid, the client deducted what the client deducted, and the number that remains is the number.
Where the money disappears
- Materials bought for one site and used on another, with no record of the transfer.
- Labour paid weekly in cash from a notebook that is sometimes lost.
- Variations done on the client's verbal instruction and never billed.
- Retentions and payment terms that nobody follows up because nobody has the schedule.
What a contractor's system tracks
A contractor does not need an enterprise ERP. A contractor needs four connected ledgers, kept daily, visible from a phone.
- Projects: budget, contract value, variations, and progress against both.
- Materials: requests from site, purchases against suppliers, deliveries, and stock per site.
- Labour and subcontractors: attendance, rates, advances and payments.
- Client billing: running bills, certified amounts, retentions, and the payment follow-up list.
The daily question
With those four in place, the owner can ask the only question that matters at any point in the project: are we above or below the budget today, and why? The answer appears while there is still time to change it.
A project report at the end is an obituary. A project report every day is a steering wheel.
We build these systems around the way contractors actually work, including the WhatsApp groups and the site foreman with a basic phone. If you are a contractor in Pakistan and have tried software that your site teams would not use, we would like to show you a different approach.
